Meeting on Stray dogs in Tawang

Tawang :   Tawang township is facing increasing number of stray dogs. In a recent case a child was ripped of his ear by an stray dog near old circuit house, people are unable to go for their morning and evening walks, Children and old people are facing more problems, fortunately till so far there is no any reported case of rabies infected stray dogs in Tawang. So keeping in view the problems being faced by common public DC Tawang shri Sang Phuntsok called a meeting of all concerned which included Army, ITBP ,SSB, HODs and NGOs like Monpa Mimang Tshogpa,Tangyom Tsokpa,EPS,MBPCs,The Humanity Group,TMEs,Secretary Tawang Monastery,AMSU,ATDSU and public leaders to discuss for a solution to this menace of stray dogs.

DVO Tawang Dr.A.Tamin, in his welcome speech apprised the house about activities taken up by Veterinary deptt Tawang to handle the situation of increasing number of stray Dogs, and suggested solutions.         The members present in the meeting took active participation in discussion and took the following unanimous desecion that,:-01. A core committee has been formed to discuss further course of action02. A committee for seeking sponsorship/Donations for taking care of Dogs.03. Temporary segregation at proposed dairy farm site of Veterinary deptt.near Temilo.04. Sterilisation to continue and shall be kept at enclosure for post operation care.05. Willingly adoption of stray dogs shall be encouraged.06. Enclosures for stray dogs at village/Block level if possible.07. Littering of food waste by Army/Paramilitary langars and hotels shall be channelized for mass dog kennel.08. Publicity to other districts regarding adoption of Tawang Breed dogs.09. Review meeting to take feed back and action taken by all concerned
